My LoL was working on Friday (dec 10th) night, but then the next day it started giving me problems. I tried many solutions including renaming LeagueOfLegend, updating my OS software, using hextech repair tool, and using League client full troubleshoot. None of the above work for me. I included a video of the problem:

Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, note them down for reference and remove them from the window. Click OK and select Use the following DNS server addresses - for IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4. Click on Advanced settings and specify the alternate DNS server addresses and then close it.
If it doesn't work, close the league installer. Go to finder, and search "Riot Client" and drag it into "Applications". Making sure that League/League installer is closed, click on Riot Client to open it. The new Riot Client should then open, and then from then on, press League of Legends, and install. Hopefully this works for you! .
